I acknowledge the receipt of your cable No.FTB-207 of October 14, concerning the contemplated release of the Japanese fishing boat, "Shoei Maru No.2".
As you suggested in the cable, we could probably make effective use of the contemplated action in our dealings with the Japanese. I would, therefore, greatly appreciate it if the Government could withhold the action and any announcement in that regard, until my further recommendation. As for the actual date for the release of the fishing boat, I will report to the Government, just as soon as opportune.
