Re your personal inquiry under cable FTB-264.
Item 1. The Draft Joint Communique which I presented to Director Iseki on November 10 was exactly the same with that which I brought from Seoul and there is no difference between them at all.
Item 2. As for paragraph a of Article 1 of the Draft Joint Communique, the Foreign Office maintains that the paragraph as it is hardly acceptable. As for paragraph c of Article 1, the Foreign Office is trying to give favorable consideration to our proposal though the Finance Ministry shows difficulties in accepting it. As for the rest of the Draft Communique, the Foreign Office has so far raised no particular objection.
Item 3. I am expecting to have definite position of the Japanese side on our Draft Communique within this week.
