九月初一日 致美公使鏤斐迪函稱 准貴大臣來函 以朝鮮國王之咨文未經盡知其詳 請將全分照錄移送酌辦等因 玆將禮部咨送該國王咨文 全行鈔錄 送交貴大臣詧收 卽希査閱 專此泐復 竝頌日祉

Sir:
We have the honor to receive Your Excellency’s note of the 10th inst., in which you remark that as you do not know the full particulars of the recent letter received from the King of Corea, you ask that a complete copy may be furnished, so that you may be able therefrom to see what is to be done. Having now received a copy of the letter from the Board of Rites, we have the honor to enclose a full copy for your information: and as we send it, beg to add our best wishes for your daily happiness.
