| Title | Eastern Wall of the Antechamber - Detailed View of the Subak Fighter (left) | ||
|---|---|---|---|
This is a detailed view of the Subak fighter on the right. This fighter's facial features are mostly intact in contrast to the fighter on the left. Even at a glance, this fighter's strong features, including his bow-shaped eyebrows, long, thin eyes, wide nose, thick lips, and sharp beard, are all indicative of his combat prowess. Notably, this fighter's beard was expressed with great detail as if to convey a sense of power through his hair, similar to the biblical Samson. The details in the wrinkles around the neckline, substantial pectoral muscles, and bulky waistline all enhance the presence of this accomplished martial artist.
This Subak fighter was rendered by first creating rough sketches in red, then applying white and black color, and finally drawing black ink outlines to finish the image. These painting techniques are most apparent in the fighter's right hand and lower body.
