| Title | Western Wall of the Antechamber (Northern Section) | ||
|---|---|---|---|
This is a detailed view of the red inscription to the right of the Royal Guard’s head on the northern section of the western antechamber wall. Although the color is faint due to deterioration, the inscription is still clearly legible. It reads "Royal Guard." The individual characters have been written in official script (also known as chancery script), an archaic style of Chinese calligraphy known for its high legibility. Needless to say, this inscription is an invaluable resource for researching Koguryo calligraphy.
