| Title | Southern Wall of the Western Auxiliary Chamber - Portrait of the Deceased - Wooden Platform | ||
|---|---|---|---|
This is a detailed view of the wooden platform depicted on the southern wall of the western auxiliary chamber in Anak Tomb No. 3. The wooden platform was a type of ancient sedentary-life furniture used by people of high social status. A smaller stand with legs can be seen in front of the wooden platform. It is essentially a step for climbing up to the wooden platform. Notably, all of the legs were depicted in a straight line, rather than using perspective, to visually demonstrate that the stand has legs. This image can be considered as an embodiment of the ancient people's desire to display every aspect of an object as opposed to a substandard level of artistry. The noblewoman's red shoes can be seen peeking out from underneath the stand.
